2017 Toyota Sequoia Performance

Performance Specs

All 2017 Sequoia models come powered by a 5.7L V8 engine that makes a hefty 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that directs power to the back wheels. However, four-wheel drive is also available, complete with low-range gearing and a locking limited-slip center differential. Whether you’re running errands in Elgin or commuting to Elmhurst, the Sequoia is prepared to perform.

Even with this setup, the Sequoia sprints to 60 mph in a quick 6.9 seconds. How you configure your Sequoia, though, affects the amount you’ll be able to tow. All things considered, the Sequoia manages to tow anywhere between 7,100 pounds and 7,400 pounds. Fuel economy is respectable considering its size and output, at 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, according to EPA estimates.

Trims and Features

Across the trim lineup, the 2017 Toyota Sequoia offers entertainment, safety, and convenience features that will excite any driver:

  • SR5: As the base trim, the 2017 Toyota Sequoia SR5 sets the pace for the trim lineup, and it comes equipped with tons of standard features. These include a sunroof, keyless entry, a roof rack, heated mirrors, foglights, and a windshield wiper de-icer. Step into the cabin and enjoy tri-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an eight-speaker stereo system controlled through a 6.1-inch touchscreen, which also boasts Connected Navigation. Available as a cost-added option is the Sport package for 20-inch chrome alloy wheels and a color-keyed grille, or the SR5 Premium package for leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-reclining and folding third row bench seat.
  • Limited: Upgrade to the Limited trim and you can expect even more, like rear parking sensors, a power liftgate, and standard 20-inch alloy wheels. In the cabin, the Limited model has everything from the SR5 Premium package, along with a higher-resolution 7-inch touchscreen with a rearview camera, a navigation system, and smartphone app capabilities. A Safety and Convenience package adds blind spot monitoring, a two-position driver seat and outside mirror memory functions. A backseat entertainment system with a Blu-ray player is also available.
  • Platinum: The topmost Sequoia trim comes with all of the above, plus adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, driver memory functions, and a premium JBL audio system, among other high-end features.
