Toyota leads the way when it comes to ultra-efficient driving. Hybrid models
are available for the Camry
, and Highlander
, and the legendary Prius
family currently covers the Prius Prime, Prius c, Prius v, and standard Prius. Practically the entire lineup is available in hybrid form, and the groundbreaking Mirai Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) is available on a limited basis, too.
What’s the Difference Between a Hybrid and an FCV?
A hybrid earns its name by combining a small internal combustion engine with one or more electric motor-generators. The engine provides useable low-end power, and the motor-generators help you run more efficiently while cruising. They require less fuel than traditional vehicles, but an FCV
removes the need for gasoline or diesel altogether. Instead, a hydrogen fuel cell generates electricity from hydrogen gas — water vapor is the only emission. Of course, it’s easier to find somewhere to fill up with conventional fuel rather than hydrogen gas, so a hybrid is more convenient.
Forward-thinking vehicles are seen more and more across the streets of Aurora, Oak Brook, and Joliet. If you’d like to find out more about our hybrid lineup
