Toyota is the Highest Quality Cars

Toyota’s brand image is still one of the best in the business and that has been proven yet again in one of the latest Yahoo Autos surveys. According to the survey, Toyota is regarded as the automaker with the highest quality vehicles among Americans ages 18-64. Yahoo surveyed 1,000 people with the question of which automotive brand built the highest quality vehicles and Toyota earned the most votes at 13 percent. This was well ahead of the other top five brands that were mentioned.

Not only did the Yahoo survey find that Toyota vehicles were of very high quality, but it also showed that many Americans are ready for a smaller vehicle. This shows just how much concern Americans have for high gas prices. The poll also showed that many Americans are willing to pay extra for a hybrid. In today’s market customers pay a sticker for a hybrid, but the good news is the base prices have dropped while technology has improved.

Most Fuel Efficient Cars on the Road

Toyota and the Toyota Motor Company produce some of the most fuel-efficient cars on the road, and so far this year many people are taking notice. Recently, the 2012 Toyota Prius C, Lexus CT 200h and Scion iQ were named to the “10 Best Green Cars of 2012” list by Kelly Blue Book. This is a highly competitive list that only honors the best vehicles that reach exceptional standards in the criteria of fuel efficiency, value, features and comfort.

We are very happy with the list for this year and we are even more happy with the car that earned the number one spot, the Toyota Prius C. While the C has only been on the market for a short time, the editors at Kelly Blue Book found it to be a great choice for a green car.

“The budget friendly c offers up to 53 mpg in city driving, seating for five and more cargo space than its subcompact dimensions might suggest,” editors said. “It all adds up to make Prius C the perfect choice for those seeking a practical, inexpensive, stylish way to save fuel.”

Toyota Named a Top 50 Company for Diversity

DiversityInc has once again named Toyota one of it’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity, in their 12^th annual survey. This is the sixth consecutive year that Toyota has been named to the list and is a great honor for the company. There were 587 companies vying for a spot that spread across a wide array of industries including consulting, retail, manufacturing and banking. A spot on the list was determined by metrics obtained in a detailed survey from DiversityInc.

Toyota earning a spot on the list is no coincidence. We take diversity very seriously in our dealership as well and we welcome it in every aspect of our business. Some of the strengths that Toyota showed to earn a spot on the list were CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications and Supplier Diversity. In addition to being named to the Top 50 Companies for Diversity, Toyota also ranked seventh in DiversityInc’s Top 10 Companies for LGBT Employees.

2013 Scion FRS in the Chicago area

It’s no secret that we love the new 2013 Scion FRS in the Chicago area, and many others throughout the country are falling hard for the sports coupe as well. The FRS hasn’t even been released yet and Scion has 1.243 pre-sale orders already slated to go out, we can only imagine how this car is going to take off once it hits our lots early next month. The newest Scion has garnered rave reviews from some of the best in the industry and the brand has high hopes for the vehicle. Scion is anticipating selling 20,000 units each year and here at our Chicago area Toyota Scion dealership, we are hoping to help out a lot.

The 2013 Scion FRS in the Chicago area will be available for sale at our dealership at the beginning of June. We are anxiously awaiting the date and we are excited to be able to provide the rear-wheel drive sports coupe to our customers. This car features a very low center of gravity and a 200 horsepower engine that is sure to be able to fly through curves, corners and straight-a-ways and will be a pleasure to drive.

A six speed manual transmission is available and so is an automatic. Either are perfectly suited for the car, depending on your preference. The excellent handling, perfect balance and amazing driving dynamics are very impressive, but the style and exterior design of the car is breathtaking. Very rarely can you find a sports car of this caliber at a price like this and we understand why the public is so excited.

Toyota is Not Concerned With Resin Shortage

There has been speculation in the news recently concerning a shortage of resin and how if could affect automakers. Toyota uses resin-based components as part of it’s automobiles and parts as do many other automakers. While the resin shortage could affect other automakers, the executives and others at Toyota Motor Company are confident that it will not affect the brand. This is good news to us here and we know that Toyota is prepared no matter what happens with parts and shortages throughout the world.

Atsushi Niimi, the executive vice president of the Toyota Motor Company has said that he has, “no major concern” about the supply of resin based components since Toyota has a sufficient inventory of the parts already. Toyota uses the resin on fuel lines, brake lines and engine components in their vehicles.

While news stories have speculated that the resin shortage could negatively affect production by some automakers, it is comforting to know that Toyota will be at their best. Toyota has a great production operation and they are very efficient in building these high quality vehicles.

2012 Toyota Venza in Naperville, IL

Naperville North High School Visits Toyota of Naperville

Last week we had the opportunity to host students from the Naperville North High School drivers education classes here at our dealership. We were very excited about the chance to talk to these young men and women and show them some things about vehicles, car dealerships and driving in general. Many employees at the dealership participated in the event and we all had a great time with these students. Our Naperville, IL Toyota dealership prides itself on being involved in the community and we couldn’t think of a better opportunity than with these students.

When the classes arrived at the dealership, we helped divide them into five groups and each group went over a different topic. Pat O’brien, the General Manager of Toyota of Naperville, welcomed all of the students and helped introduce them to the dealership. One group joined Omer and Shannon G. to learn about the product that we sell here, our future products, business ethics of the dealership and to go over features and benefits of these Toyota vehicles. There was a lot of interest in our vehicles and we were very happy to be able to show the students why a Toyota is a leading vehicle on the market.

AJ Reilly taught the students about the concept of financing a vehicle. This is a very important topic so that students understand how to properly determine if they can afford a vehicle and how to go about financing it. Chris Roach showed the students how to properly change a flat tire and how to check oil. These basic skills are vital to new drivers and will most likely come in handy to many of them when they finish their drivers education classes and hit the open road.

Vehicle maintenance was another hot topic of discussion during the event. Pete Murrin talked to the students about proper maintenance and how to keep your car running as long as possible. Oil changes and routine maintenance were major points during this session. The students even got to experience a tour of the building with our Director of Fixed Operations, Bob Snell.

We expected the students to be more interested in the cool new vehicles and features available today, but when Omer asked them about what is important to them in a car, their responses were “reliability, safety, and it would be a bonus if it looked nice.” Omer and the rest of the session leaders were impressed with the responses and of how mature the students were.

Students were awarded with prizes for participation including two iPods, pens and each student received a doggie bag from Toyota Financial Services that included a Naperville North “Go Huskies” banner for athletic events. A Frisbee and other goodies were included in the bag as well.

Overall the students really enjoyed their visit and the employees here at Toyota Of Naperville enjoyed it even more. The students all ranged in ages from 15-16 years old and were led by their instructor Mike Cluver from Naperville North.

We were very happy with the experience and hope to do this again in the near future. Maybe some day some of these students will stop by again and get their very first Toyota in Naperville, IL, when they are looking for more “Reliability and safety.”

Chicago Auto Show Attendee Wins New Camry

This past February Toyota made big headlines at the Chicago Auto Show. Personally, our dealership loves this car show since it is so close to Toyota of Naperville. On the last day of the Chicago Auto Show, Chicago Toyota Region announced the winner at the Toyota display and Mr. Thomas Buttaccio will now be the owner of a brand new Camry. Toyota Of Naperville Test Drives For Autism

Autism affects one in every 88 children in America. This is more children than what are affected by Aids, diabetes, cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and down syndrome combined. There is not one “cause” of autism, but research and development is being done to help combat this disease. Our dealership feels very strongly about this subject and we are a proud supporter of the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. April is autism awareness month and in recognition and support of this we are holding our 2^nd Annual Test Drives for Autism at Toyota of Naperville.

Each test drive taken at our dealership, and the dealerships participating dealers in and around the Naperville, IL area will result in a $20 donation to the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. This month-long event holds high expectations for us. Our goal for the year is to have 30 test drives for each of our 34 sales people. This would result in 1.020 test drives for our dealership and would add up to $20,040.

The goal for the entire Test Drives for Autism for this year is $75,000 for all of the 24 dealerships. Last year, we had a goal of $50,000 and we exceeded this and raised $66,730. We know that with the support of the community, we will have no trouble reaching our $75,000 goal.

This is a big month for the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation in more than one way. On April 12^th, the foundation opened their new North Naperville Community Campus. This campus will aid in supporting those and their families who are impacted by autism. Enhancing the quality of life and maximizing independence of these individuals is a major goal of this campus and with the state-of-the-art facility, this will now be possible.
