Toyota Looks To Start Fuel Cell Car Sales by 2015

Toyota Hybrids in Chicago at Toyota of Naperville

Dan Wolf Toyota of Naperville is always trying to stay on top of the new technology offered in the automotive world. Our brand, Toyota, makes this pretty easy on us since they are the one blazing the trail in the automotive world most of the time. As one of the leading Toyota dealerships in the Chicago area, we are really anticipating the new Toyota fuel cell vehicle that the company hopes to start selling by 2015. Toyota is looking out for the earth and our wallets by seeing past hybrids and into the world of fuel cell technology, which would make vehicles more energy efficient.

The world’s largest automaker is planning on selling a few thousand units of their hydrogen-burning fuel cell vehicle by 2015. Sales are going to be limited due to anticipated high price of the vehicle. Toyota expects the new fuel cell vehicle to retail at 100,000 euros in Europe, this translates to around $138,000 U.S. according to Toyota Europe Vice President for Product Planning & Marketing Alain Uyttenhoven.

Europe is making tougher emissions rules and Toyota is trying to stay ahead of the curve in order to meet the new standards. They believe that batter powered vehicles are perfect for commuters in cities, but a hybrid option is good for trips and urban commuting.

Toyota is going to begin sales of the Prius plug-in hybrid version of the Prius, which can travel 14.3 miles in pure electric mode. Toyota offers some of the best hybrid cars in the world and the technology they are working on will continue to put more fuel-efficient cars on the road.

Toyota of Naperville is very excited about the new fuel-cell cars that are being developed by Toyota. While we know that it will be a few years until we see some of these vehicles, we are highly anticipating their arrival. In the meantime, stop in at Dan Wolf Toyota of Naperville for a great new Toyota car in Naperville or one of our used cars in Naperville. Come down to Toyota of Naperville to check out the latest in Toyota technology, we hope to see you soon.

Toyota Debuts New Prius at Detroit Auto Show

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

With the revolutionary Prius, Toyota became the first automobile company to mass-produce a hybrid car. Through the years, Toyota has continued its commitment to lessening the effects of carbon emissions by retaining its leadership in green technologies. In keeping with this tradition, at the Detroit Auto Show, Toyota will be debut the next environmentally friendly Prius.

In the lead up, Toyota has focused on teasing the public with just enough bits of information to whet a hybrid fan’s appetite. In a teaser video, skateboarder Bob Burnquist states: “I can’t show you everything just yet, but here’s a sneak peek,” as he quickly skates past a blurred silhouette of the new Prius.

With regard to the new Prius, here’s what we know so far:

As the 2011 Detroit auto show approaches, Toyota has released another teaser image for its addition to the Prius family. This time we get a sneak peek at the interior cargo area, which adds 50% more rear space over the traditional Prius’ 21.6 cubic feet, Toyota says. — Kicking Tires

“Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will stage the world premiere of the Prius family of vehicles at a press conference at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. In addition to the current third-generation Prius and Prius Plug-in vehicle (PHV), the first all-new addition to the Prius Family will debut along with a Prius concept vehicle.” — Toyota

It’s not much to go on, but in a few days we will perhaps see why Toyota remains the leader in the “environmentally friendly/green” category in the Consumer Reports’ 2011 Car Brand Perception Survey.

Great Financing on New 2011 Toyota Tacoma Pickups

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
2011 Toyota Tacom

Special financing now available on 2011 Toyota Tacoma pickups.

Among small and mid-sized pickups, the Toyota Tacoma is in a class by itself. And now, you can get a great Tacoma with special financing that makes getting a new truck for Christmas an attractive option.

In it’s review of the 2011 Tacoma, Edmunds made it clear that the Toyota is a top choice. Comparing Tacoma to the competition, Edmunds point out:

Of the Tacoma’s rivals, the strongest picks are the Nissan Frontier and almost identical Suzuki Equator; the American entries are sadly well past their prime and not really competitive. Still, although both the Frontier and the Equator are capable choices, neither is impressive enough to challenge the Tacoma’s dominance in the segment.

Tacoma for 2011 comes in four major variations: Regular Cab, Access Cab, Double Cab, and X-Runner. For those on a budget, the Regular Cab in rear-wheel-drive configuration starts at a modest $16,365. For that modest price buyers get a nicely styled and nicely configured truck with a handy deck rail system with 4 adjustable tie-down cleats for securing cargo. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, cloth bench seat, full carpeting, AM/FM stereo with MP3/WMA playback and seven speakers, and much more. For those needing the added traction and versatility of 4-wheel-drive, prices remain modest, starting at only $20,220.

At these prices, Tacoma is a lot of truck for the money, and it becomes even more attractive with great financing. Currently, well qualified buyers can purchase a new, 2011 Toyota Tacoma with great 1.9 percent APR financing for 36, 48 or even 60 months.

Currently, Toyota of Naperville, Chicagoland’s premier Toyota dealer, has nearly two dozen new Toyota Tacoma pickups available. Stop in for a test drive today and one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales professionals will help you find the Tacoma you’ve been looking for.

2011 Toyota Avalon

The 2011 Toyota Avalon

Responding to customer feedback, Toyota announced earlier this month that new Toyota and Scion vehicles would come standard with Toyota Care and Scion Service Boost. The services cover normal, factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The move is a first for a full-line manufacturer and comes after an early experiment in offering the program proved popular with customers. As part of a seasonal sales program in the Spring, Toyota launched the program on a limited basis to rave reviews. In a press release, the company said it found that 73 percent of customers said it improved their confidence in Toyota. That led the company to make the plan standard on all new vehicles.

“The two complimentary maintenance plans were developed to help improve overall cost of ownership and provide invaluable peace of mind for our customers,” Toyota Division group VP and General Manager Bob Carter said. “The new programs were inspired by owner feedback and once again reflect how Toyota listens to its customers.”

The Toyota and Scion maintenance plans cover normal factory-recommended maintenance as described in vehicle owners’ manuals. The plans cover oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and chassis lubrication. the plans also cover a 19-point inspection and provide 24-hour roadside assistance. In its press release, Toyota says this covers such events as lockout protection, flat tires, towing, and jump starts.

Get a Great Deal on a 2011 Toyota Sienna

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

In an earlier post, we mentioned that the 2011 Toyota Sienna was setting a new standard for minivan style and design. Reviewers, in fact, have been lavish in their praise for the new Sienna.

“You have to be impressed” with the Sienna says reviewer Richard Starnes for the Edmonton Journal. “Comfort abounds, especially if you have the second-row captain’s seats. They recline as far as you like and come with foot rests. Now look up at the video screen, lie back and enjoy your favourite movie.”

Writing for the Portland Press Herald, reviewer Scott Wasser echoed that praise. “Versatile, well-rounded, accommodating and with no glaring compromises, the Sienna reminded this jaded auto writer what he once found so compelling about minivans,” Wasser wrote.

You can get a look (and a test-drive) at the new class-leading Sienna minivan at Toyota of Naperville. And, when it’s time to buy, you can get a great deal too. That’s because for a limited time you can get up to $1,000 cash back on a new 2011 Sienna.

But, the catch is, you have to hurry. You can get a great new Sienna minivan any time, but the cash-back offer expires on November 1.
